I started with this ready-to-finish wood castle from Michaels, originally $19.99, and used a 40% coupon. Total: $11.99 + tax

I wanted to duplicate the "look" of this castle from Melissa and Doug:
I think this is LITERALLY the exact SAME castle!!

I used Valspar brand paint from Lowes: Polka Pink and Vessa Gray, Glidden Rich Navy (windows) from Home Depot, and then decoupaged pieces of scrap paper onto the floors/walls for "rugs, tile and wallpaper".

That way you'll be more likely to enjoy doing it and to get it finished....goodness knows I've got lots of old projects sitting unfinished because my heart wasn't completely "in it". Michael's is a craft store that has a website where you can look up their store locations, but they do not have an "online store" where you can shop. Therefore, I cannot attach a link of where to "purchase" the wooden castle from online. Other readers have emailed me that they have had luck finding them in their Michael's store. I wish that I was able to help you further with a link.... :(
